Old Swainson's Hawk

This female Swainson's Hawk was wounded as an adult bird and has since been in captivity at a raptor rehabilitation facility for over 20 years. Her dark eyes reflect her age. She is an excellent foster mother to the many injured or starving baby hawks that are brought into the center, rehabilitated, and released every year.
