"Be a chum and watch Valcaur for me, Olfae. This storm is getting bad. I'm going out to find some youngster to deliver Maud's message for me. What's the name of that Verreaux's Eagle-owl gryphlet in the next aerie over?"

Marajo, Maud's melanistic leopard/Slate-colored Hawk assassin, leaves his giant adopted son Valcaur [link] in the care of Olfae, the Lesser Yellow-headed vulture/puma tracker gryph. If gryphons grow anything like baby birds, Valcaur would reach his full size before he got his full plumage. That would make him one giant, fluffy, "ugladorable" (to use ~Silenced-Dreams's description) chick. I'm not sure if Olfae is up to the job.

I decided to solidify Marajo (Ma-rah-ho) and Olfae's designs since they'll stand in for Valcaur's _(murdered) parents in future challenges. Marajo is a demanding and sardonic father figure, but Valcaur strives to please him. However, he's fonder of Olfae, who comforts and encourages him. Unfortunately, the naturally obsequious and indulgent Olfae has trouble exerting any degree of authority over his oversized young charge.
